Rotary in the Thames Valley

Welcome to our Rotary website, showcasing Rotary across the Thames Valley, across Oxfordshire, parts of Berkshire and a small part of Middlesex.

With 56 Rotary clubs, plus Rotaract, Interact and Rotakids clubs we have members making a huge difference in their local communities and supporting many international projects. From Banbury in the north, Burford and Faringdon in the west, Hungerford and Newbury in the south and Pinner, Hillingdon and Uxbridge in the east you will find Rotary’s presence supporting many initiatives. 

We have a new ‘latest’ page, with stories of some of our club activities. We’ll continue to develop this and we hope that it gives you a taste of our interests.

Rotary International statement on Ukraine conflict

It is a tragic and sad time for the people of Ukraine and the world.

At Rotary, we are deeply concerned by the deteriorating situation in Ukraine and the escalating loss of life and humanitarian hardship there. Continued military action against Ukraine will not only devastate the region, but also risk spreading tragic consequences across Europe and the world.

As one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, we have made peace the cornerstone of our global mission. We join the international community in calling for an immediate cease fire, withdrawal of Russian forces, and a restoration of diplomatic efforts to resolve this conflict through dialogue.

In the past decade, Rotary clubs in Ukraine, Russia and nearby countries have transcended national differences and have actively engaged in peace-building projects to promote goodwill and to marshal assistance for the victims of war and violence. Today, our thoughts are with our fellow Rotary members and others in Ukraine coping with these tragic events. Rotary International will do everything in its power to bring aid, support and peace to the region.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES: Rotary was founded over 100 years ago as a business networking club and this is still part of Rotary life. Ethical practice is encouraged and, with members drawn from all walks of life, the opportunities to network are endless.

FUN AND FRIENDSHIP: Rotary membership is a lot of fun. We arrange activities which provide a welcome distraction from busy lives and the opportunity to make new friends who share common values.

There are also Rotarian Action Groups which are involved in making a difference in their community.
